Description
The Nikon NIKKOR Z DX 50-250mm f/4.5-6.3 VR is a compact telephoto zoom designed for Nikon's DX-format Z series mirrorless cameras. Covering 50-250mm (about 75-375mm in full-frame equivalent terms), it gives Z50 and Z fc shooters genuine reach for sports, wildlife, travel and compressed portraits, in a lens that weighs only about 405g and measures just 110mm when retracted.
Built-in VR (Vibration Reduction) image stabilisation helps keep handheld shots sharp at long focal lengths, while the stepping motor delivers fast, accurate and quiet autofocus that suits both stills and video. The internal focusing design keeps the barrel length constant while focusing, and the electromagnetic diaphragm provides precise, stable exposure control during continuous shooting.
Optically, the lens uses 16 elements in 12 groups including one extra-low dispersion (ED) glass element with Nikon's Super Integrated Coating to control chromatic aberration for crisp, contrasty images. A 7-blade diaphragm, a close minimum focus distance of 0.5m at 50mm (1.0m at 250mm) with 0.23x maximum reproduction, and a 62mm front filter thread round out this practical travel telephoto zoom.
