The NIKKOR Z 40mm f/2 is a compact prime lens for Nikon Z mount mirrorless cameras - a natural 40mm view with a fast f/2 maximum aperture in a tiny, lightweight body. At just 45.5mm long and about 170g, it is an ideal main walk-around lens or a lightweight second lens you can take anywhere.
The 40mm focal length covers a 57-degree angle of view on FX (38 degrees 50 minutes on DX), sitting between the classic 35mm and 50mm perspectives for a versatile everyday look. The f/2 maximum aperture (f/16 minimum) gives lovely subject separation and low-light capability. Its simple, effective optical formula uses 6 elements in 4 groups with 2 aspherical elements and Super Integrated Coating, a 9-blade rounded diaphragm for smooth bokeh, internal focusing, and a close minimum focus distance of 0.29m with 0.17x maximum reproduction ratio.
A stepping motor delivers fast, near-silent autofocus for stills and smooth focus transitions for video, while the assignable control ring can operate aperture or exposure compensation. 52mm screw-in filter thread; compatible with FX and DX Nikon Z cameras.
