Description
The Sony ICD-PX470 digital voice recorder captures lectures, meetings, interviews and dictation in clear stereo sound. Its S-Microphone system records distant or quiet sounds clearly, and you can switch between Focus recording — which narrows in on a single voice — and Wide-Stereo recording for capturing everyone in the room.
Four scene presets (music, meeting, interview, dictation) optimise the audio settings automatically, while Auto Voice Recording tunes the capture for vocal frequencies to reduce background noise. A low-cut filter further cleans up unwanted rumble.
With 4GB of built-in memory you can record up to 59 hours 35 minutes in stereo MP3 (128kbps), and a microSD slot expands capacity by up to 32GB. Recordings are stored as MP3 or LPCM and stamped with the date, and playback supports MP3, WMA, AAC and LPCM files.
Transferring files is effortless thanks to the built-in USB connector — just plug the recorder straight into a computer, no cable needed. Transcription playback mode with Digital Pitch Control lets you slow down speech to review conversations, and Calendar Search helps you find recordings by date.
Battery life runs up to 55 hours of recording on two AAA batteries. Weighing just 74g, the ICD-PX470 slips easily into a pocket or bag.
